Stinson Carpets

I have been in contact with Rich Axtell since June 16th for a quote on a cabinet. He quit responding to emails. I called and he assured me he would send a quote. Did not receive.

There was all kinds of problems on the installation of our carpet. The installation crew did a sorry job on every aspect of the job. They didn't clean up after they were done. One of they guys cut his self and got blood all over the house and didn't clean it up. And there was terrible communication from the sales man and the installation crew. I don't recommend them at all!

What a fantastic find. Stinson's has high-quality beautiful flooring, cabinetry and backsplashes. The owner Ron is very helpful, and Yvonne is a superstar. Highly recommended.

They have a great showroom and excellent decorating services. It was a relief to have a professional there to help me make a decision.

This company does not even deserve 1 star. HORRIBLE experience! Beware if you are planning to work these people, especially Rich, these people are snakes! They will tell you one thing and then turn around and say they did not say that. If you are trying to negotiate a price they will take stuff out of or change colors of your design to "get to your price" WITHOUT telling you and then when you catch them they will try to sneak it vaguely into and email so you hopefully don't catch it before you sign the contract!

Either they do not train their employees well, do not care what they do or do not care about their customers! I HATE having to write a bad review for any company but they really went about things the wrong way!

Showroom is beautiful and the staff when we visited were great. My wife and I are building a home with Highland Homes and found out that Stinson's is the supplier for them. So we go in and discuss purchasing tile and vinyl planking, among many other things. I asked them if they were able to get the square footage of our house so I can get an accurate estimate for the flooring we want to purchase.

I was told that they can do that, but since it was a Friday, they'd get back to me early the following week. That was fine. That week went by, no contact. My wife goes up there the following week, and we're told the guy who was doing the square footage was not there but that she'd send an email to him asking him to get back with us. Another week goes by, we hear nothing.

We call up there, and are told the same thing, that he'd get back with us. We never heard a thing. Another few weeks go by and we call again, same exact scenario. It's been well over a month, probably closer to two months and we never heard anything from them, even after going out of our way. We were almost begging to give them money and could never get a call back.

We've now sourced the material we need from another supplier in Lakeland and will be taking our business there. This is multiple thousands of dollars that they let leave their store. Not sure how they've been so highly regarded if they cannot even return a phone call with someone who is basically wants to give them money.

We are so pleased with our new wood look tile floors from Stinsons. It was a big job. We had to have both tile and carpet removed from most of the rooms in the house. Yvonne worked with us through the entire process. The removal crew was clean and efficient. They kept down the dust and blocked off the areas where tile was not being removed. They were kind to our baseboards, existing kitchen cabinets, etc.

The tile crew was great! They were respectful, careful and did a fantastic job. Our house had some difficult angles and a hallway and kitchen where the tile split and then met again 14 feet later. The tile met perfectly and grout lines were narrow throughout. We couldn't be more satisfied! We are working with Yvonne on the next project - the master bedroom and bath. She has helped us make some beautiful selections and we are confident that when the crew returns to do this job, we will be just as happy with the results.

One star because zero is not an option. We had water damage to a large portion of our living room flooring and I reached out to Stinson because they installed the floors. It took weeks and weeks and WEEKS to get quotes for the repair. After we finally scheduled the repair (mid January - damage was in September), they promptly called us for the first half of payment.

The "repair" was done and it looks like we let my 5 year old do it himself. I was shocked that a professional did this work. I wish I could include the photos here. I emailed Stinson regarding my complaint two weeks ago and have received NOTHING but a bill for the other half of payment (those come quickly, nothing else does). We are incredibly disappointed in the lack of quality and customer service we have received from Stinson from beginning to now. No regard for their customers or even the work they do in customer homes. Save yourself the headache and crappy repairs - go somewhere else.

Yvonne was a god-send. She went beyond what I would have thought was her "job responsibility". Knowledgeable, thorough, creative, and patient. A pleasure to work with.

Great family owned business with top notch, professional service. Excellent prices, goods and installation far exceeded any other placed I shopped.
