Schafer Hardwood Flooring

I highly recommend Schafer Hardwood Flooring's Engineered (V3) Flooring. Their product is leaps-and-bounds better than not only other engineered flooring options but also solid hardwood floors. As background, my wife and I purchased ~575 sq. ft. of Schafer's prefinished 7" wide V3 Hickory Flooring and I personally laid the flooring. We found Schafer's V3 product to be strikingly beautiful, extremely well crafted and excellent stability. Schafer's product is one-of-a-kind in it's core design as it uses layers of perpendicular solid Maple pieces as its core providing great stability (especially when compared to solid hardwood flooring) as the seasons change here in Michigan.

As a stability point of comparison, I also laid 7" wide solid Hickory which has shown some gapping, etc. driven by heating (causing a reduction in humidity) our home during the winter months. Beyond the robust technical aspects of V3 is what every homeowner cares about.it's look! Schafer uses AMAZING wood quality for their thick wear layer (i.e. the one you see).

The finish strikes a nice balance between being durable but not feeling artificial, built-up nor highly glossy. Beyond the product, Laura and her team provide excellent service. Laura helped my wife and I through the selection process, following up with a very generous helping of samples (not just postage stamp sized pieces like some other flooring companies). Schafer was also flexible in the delivery date; upon our asking, they held the flooring for several weeks after the planned delivery date due to construction delays on our end. Delivery, an easily overlooked component to a DIYer, was very easy and streamlined.

On the delivery date, a team member from the finisher helped us move the nicely wrapped bundles of flooring into our living room (Note: We live fairly close to the finisher so I don't know how long distance deliveries are handled). My wife and I wanted to extend a huge thank you to the Schafer Hardwood Floor team for the commitment to a beautiful, high quality, well-crafted product with excellent service. ~Andrew

Terrible service, gave us a completely different product than what was asked for. Produce was laid down with there recommended equipment. We had to completely re-sand our floors. Tried to resolve the issue with very weak results. The employees at Schafer are not qualified to give professional advice. As one of the managers emphatically stated. My business will be going elsewhere. Truly wish I could have given a great recommendation.
