I was impressed that the time and cost estimates were accurate. My floors look beautiful. I highly recommend moving out of the house for a few days while your new floors are being installed. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend Mac Trunnell's Wine Country Flooring.

Mac & crew refinished the floors throughout our home - about 1600 square feet. He was helpful in locating pods and movers for all the furniture that needed to be taken out and was professional, courteous and prompt. The job took a bit longer than expected, but the finished product is well worth it. Mac listened and provided several stain options, including the special walnut that made my red oak floors look beautiful.

Wine Country Flooring just completed an installation of engineered hardwood floors and baseboards throughout our house. Their attention to detail, professionalism and work ethic are superior. Beautiful work! I highly recommend Mac and his crew!

Mac and his team were very professional. First off they helped me choose the color stain and answered all my questions. They did the job neatly and efficiently. My floors look amazing! By far the best investment for my home. I would highly recommended Mac and his team.

Malcolm is the guy you want doing your floors. I've used him twice in past 2 years on a total of 3600 sq feet of floors, two different woods, and Rubio monocoat finish. First, he is awesome to work with. He's extremely nice, cares about his customers and truly wants them to be absolutely happy with the finished product. It appears to me that this is what drives him. He's extremely knowledgeable, but is not over confident, he researches new techniques and inquires about the right way of doing things when odd things come up during remodeling.

He is one of the most honest business people I know and his prices are extremely fair. On my particular projects, what impressed me beyond the flooring was how attentive he was to the entire project, helping with getting baseboards painted, working with other contractors and being proactive with calling them. This is so hard to find. His crew is respectful of people's homes and I always felt comfortable leaving them here.

On the last job we had an accident, a sprinkler pipe for the water system flooded the floor when plumbers made a repair incorrectly. Mac helped me through that and had good advice. He had to adjust his schedule since we had to wait for the floors to dry. He still got our project done on time. He also puts up with me! I'm very particular. I always inquire about processes and go a little alpha with details on how things are done (lots of bad experiences with other contractors). Mac has never made me feel like I'm wrong in doing so.

He listens and responds. Can't say enough about him and his team on a day to day level. As for the floors. Awesome. They do top notch work. We've done 5" sapele and 8" French oak both site finished and gorgeous. And to the one guy who laughed about the thin underlay.? You probably wanted that. It's 1/4 plywood. When they glue a floor it provides a middle layer to the subfloor, so if you ever have damage (like our little flood) it's much easier to repair.

Where do I start with this place? Well the owner comes out, measures the floor and does some kind of moisture test. Mac says, Oh he'll fill the low spots on our wooden floor with felt and take care of the high spots and cover the floor with 1/4" underlayment then nail down our hardwood floor. It'll look great. Well that didn't happen!

When they finally showed up, one worker laid down the underlayment without it being acclimated to our house for 24+ hours like the manufacturer say's and stapled it down with an air gun. I thought, that didn't take long. That evening as I looked around I noticed a lot of staples disappeared well into the wood. So I check the manufacturers recommendation and it states specifically do not use staples installed with an air gun on this underlayment.

Also I noticed the underlayment looked very thin and was labeled 5mm which is not 1/4" like Mac stated. Also none of the high or low spots have been addressed. So the next morning he shows up with his crew to install the hickory floor we chose and walks in with 6 or 8 buckets of glue. My wife and I looked at each other and said, what's this? They were going to glue it down, not nail it like he said.

We had checked with a couple of other floor places and they said they never glue the type of floor we have down to an underlayment. They staple it down to the sub floor after it's been leveled. Also we had 3 other installers come out and look at our un-finished floor and they agreed the floor needs to be level. Also they were unsure what kind of product this underlayment is and was likened it to balsa wood.

So today my wife and I removed about half of the underlayment so the sub floor can be leveled. Oh, I have to mention the owner tried to fix things up by saying he'll level the floor now. But that doesn't seem right because if he does that over the underlayment he installed and grinds the high spots that is already buckling because it being installed wrong, it will then be too thin in spots to be securely held to the sub floor (He should have thought about that long before I told him and his crew to leave).

So how will my expensive floor keep from coming loose from the sub floor where even now parts of underlayment are coming loose and popping up? One thing that he said was our sub floor looked great. I don't know how he can say that when he never once checked to see if it was level at all. Hmmmmmm. I also have to mention we paid him $3K cash to start which he said we would get a receipt for which I still have not seen.

Oh and get this, he wants to be paid for installing the wrong underlayment in a way Not recommended by the manufacturer. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Update 10/28/2015 Upon taking up the underlayment we found an area that was very low and cardboard was used as a filler to help level the floor. I've heard of cutting corners to save money but this type of work is very bad.

Mac and his crew recently completed a two week job on our home refurbishing original red oak and adding new red oak to replace our old flooring. The result was superb! The transition from the new to old oak matched seamlessly and the workmanship of Mac and his crew was superior. In addition, Mac installed additional flooring in our downstairs closets at no extra charge because wanted it to look seamless. If you are looking for a true craftsman who cares about the quality of his work and customer satisfaction I highly recommend Wine Country Flooring.

I purchased a home in Pleasanton that had unbelievable cat urine damage to hard wood floors. Impossible to be inside with the odor. Mac and his crew came in and cut out the portions with urine and replaced with new wood and matched the color very nicely. Really good work and reasonably priced. I recommend them highly.

I would definitely recommend Malcolm and his crew. They are very professional, accurate and polite. I removed the carpet from our four rooms and I was lucky enough to find hardwood white oak which needed a fresh touch and some replacement boards. Malcolm wasn't the cheapest one but I felt secure to hire him for the job. And I was so right. They sealed the rest of the house and in four days everything was ready.

They finished sanding and change some boards the first day and polishing the rest. Clean everything afterwards. You couldn't tell that you had workers in your house. They even came back to correct some spots with no extra charge or any complain.

Should be able to give them zero stars. We hired them to install our high end wood floors. First- When installing planks, they installed the bad ones too, which needed to be replaced. Second- Ruined carpet by not putting down protection, due to very dirty shoes and glue everywhere. Had to hire carpet cleaner at our expense and needed to cut out glue in several rooms and areas of carpet, which ruined it. Third- Needed to make our own repairs to hardwood installation where it met carpeting. Fourth- Spent days removing dried glue left all over hardwood surface, as company would not. Fifth-Bad customer service, owner would not come back to check work and was yelled at when we were the ones who were patient through all of this mess! If my husband wasn't around to supervise, this job would have been a complete loss. Avoid at all costs!

Yes yes yes. I would give 6 stars if I could. We bought some hard wood flooring for our first floor from Wine Country Flooring and did the installation ourselves. Their price was super competitive (best amongst the 6 companies we contacted) and we received PROFESSIONAL advice on how to install it. We plan to do the 2nd floor this Fall (carpet everywhere in our house. even in the bathroom! yeirk!) and will definitely call them and only them. Can't recommend them enough!

Malcolm is very helpful and went out of his way to respond to my email even though he knew I wasn't looking for flooring. My boyfriend and I are renting an apartment. The complex's handyman installed laminate flooring right before we moved in. A few months ago, we pulled the oven out to clean behind it. The handyman had only installed the laminate to about two inches behind the front side of the oven.

And while we were pulling it out, the back legs snagged the lip of that last piece and cracked it. Worried about being dinged when we move out, I wanted to get some advice from PROFESSIONAL floor installers. I wanted to know if it's standard practice to install all the way to the wall, or just to the front of an appliance like in our case. I found Wine Country Flooring on Yelp and thought I would ask them.

I sent an email along with two pictures. Malcolm responded to my email within a few hours. He answered my question (they always install to the wall) and even gave me some advice on how we can fix it. I think the fact that Malcolm responded to an email from someone who he knew wasn't going to be a customer shows a lot about his character. And if I'm ever looking for flooring, I know who to call! Thank you Malcolm! :)

I had recently planned to install laminate in my home and discovered original hardwood floors in tact under the carpet. They were painted over so we were unsure of the condition. I immediately got on Yelp and found Wine Country Flooring. I called Mac and he was at my home that afternoon. He had a crew in the next day. My floors look AMAZING! We were going to re-carpet the bedrooms, but now I want to have Mac and crew do them as well. It is great to have a local company I can support and one that takes such great care and pride in their work.

I had Mac and his crew 1) refinish the old oak hardwood in my recently purchased house, and 2) rip out the horrible tile in the kitchen and extend the hardwood into the kitchen. Now this is the only time I have had hardwood work done, but it I can't imagine it would turn out much better! The old hardwood looks new, and they managed to blend in the new hardwood perfectly.

On top of that, speaking with Mac, you can really tell he cares about flooring and takes pride in the work. They do good work, they are nice guys, and give a fair price. I have no reservations about recommending them to friends.

These guys are the best. Wine Country Flooring did our entire home with beautiful red oak flooring. We hired them first few years ago to replace the carpet with hardwood flooring in our family room. Last year, we renovated our kitchen and built an upstairs room. We decided to install hardwood throughout the house and in the new room. We called Mac & crew again at Wine Country Flooring. They worked with our construction schedule and did an amazing job with the floors. Very professional and great quality work.

After several estimates, I choose Wine Country Flooring. Even though they weren't the lowest bid, I know you get what you pay for. My choice was perfect! To start I have two indoor cats, Wine Country Flooring would always check with me to make sure they were locked in my bedroom before they started to work. I never once felt any panic my babies would be let out of the house!

I work full time, when I would come home at night my home was orderly, and allowed me to live in it while the work was being done. The job is done and the floor looks fabulous! I would recommend them over all. They were professional, personable, trustworthy.
