Hurst Hardwoods

I purchased over 5500 dollars of rift and quartersawn 5" red oak flooring. I understand delays and well over a month was acceptable given COVID delays across the commodity markets. The problem I have is this. I called them out on the treads and risers as the treads were 100% rift cut and the risers had a higher than typical stave count. I was expecting a mix of both cuts in both risers and treads.

Each is it's own item and should both have been a mixed product of cuts. The flooring is the worst, the "quartersawn" ratio is about 5% at best and the rift is not rift either.it's slab cut and not even remotely what they sold me as. I called them to resolve the stairs first as that is the item I worked with first installing and after several emails they tell me RIFT is a premium cut over quartersawn it's better.

I responded it's not what I purchased as I was looking for a mix, not one or the other. Bottom line they pin this on the supplier saying that is what I get and nothing can be done. I did not even attempt to address the flooring which I opened next to install and it's what I classify as neither rift or quartersawn based on the percentages of either.

I put a video online to show this with hopes to warn others about their sell and deliver lesser quality than what they state. I feel I should have been offered the replacement with what I bought, not what the distributor chose to ship out on hand.

I was in desparate need for a particular floor that our local installer couldn't find. They carried the exact wood we needed and they quickly shipped the wood to us, 600 miles away. When we got around to opening up the wood, we discovered they shipped the wrong product! My order was correct and the invoice was correct. They just pulled the wrong product.

For this, they get 1 star. HOWEVER, when I brought this to their attention, they admitted fault and didn't lay any blame at my feet. Less than 36 hours later, they picked up the wood and started the process of a refund. Because they took ownership of the problem and apologized for the error, they get 3 stars back. If they were a local business, I would do business with them again. We are all human and mistakes happen. They at least took responsibility for the error.

We ordered 1500SF of white oak 3/4 flooring. The product was shipped when expected, arrived on time and in great condition. Our flooring installers said this was some of the best material they have worked with. Overall, I was very happy with John's help on the sale and the product was great. We will certainly use them again.

I used their services back in November. They were great on my first order, everything got ordered right and shipped alright. However, my second ordering with them was not acceptable. They shipped damaged soaked boxes, and never took responsibility for them. Unfortunately, they don't handle costumer feedback well either. Mr Hurst himself decided to ignore me instead of replacing damaged goods, and now I'm stuck with incomplete materials for my project!

Contacted several people on several separate occasions via email concerning issues with the shipment I received from this company. No response from anyone. Would not do business with these knuckleheads again.

Beautiful Flooring and extremely helpful sales professionals. Evie was wonderful to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to get samples. She even resent samples that got misplaced in delivery process. Most samples we got from other flooring companies was small and did not show variation in the woods. Hurst Hardwoods provided multiple samples of each wood in order to show variation in the wood. Very prompt shipment as well.

I ordered walnut flooring and treads for use on my stairs. Andrea, in customer service helped me and she was very helpful and efficient. Moreover she provided follow-up that was spot-on and timely The flooring and treads are beautiful, I can't wait to finish the installation. Don't hesitate to use Hurst for your hardwood project

Very happy with my purchase. Spent months researching until I decided to go with Hurst Hardwoods. I ended up getting unfinished white oak with no bevel 1/2 thick. Flooring came packaged well, and not a single piece was damaged. I ended up sealing the floor with 4 coats of Loba 2K Invisible Protect AT. Kinda pricey after it was all said and done, it was totally worth it.

The coating almost feels velvety smooth. I poured grape juice on a sample piece with the 4 coats and let it sit for an hour. Wiped completely off with no effort. I have added photos of the sample piece so you can see the coating build up over 4 coats. I had the hardest time deciding on what finish I wanted to purchase (this was before I decided to get unfinished).

I couldn't tell from the photos taken what finishes were darker than others. There wasn't any photos with the flooring samples side by side for comparison. until now. you're welcome! I was really surprise how dark the Antique White finish was. It looked so light in some of the photos from Hurst. None of the pictures have been edited for color.

Replacing your flooring is a lot more permanent than, say, changing the color of the paint on your walls, so we really wanted to be sure we were making the right choice. With 2 dogs, a pool, and kids in and out of the house constantly, we needed to find flooring that best suited our family's active lifestyle. After a lengthy search to replace our home's budget laminate flooring with something that was more water & scratch resistant, we came across Spring Tech Waterproof Vinyl through hursthardwoods.com. and thank God we did!

There are a lot of options out there in terms of plank widths, lengths, wear layers, surface textures, patterns, and colors. If you don't have a plan, it can be incredibly overwhelming! Fortunately, the Hurst team really listened to us and did a great job of efficiently explaining things to us "in layman's terms" on what might work best for our family.

In an effort to find the best value, we compared product specifications and viewed several samples from some of the top brand name manufacturers on the market. In the end, it didn't take long to see how much more "bang for our buck" we were getting with Spring Tech. In fact, when compared to the pricing by some of these "popular" manufacturers, it wasn't even close.

After making our selection, we needed help with the install. Because we're local to Hurst Hardwoods, we were able to use their install team led by John (head estimator) and Marcio (lead installer) of Wood House Floors. Not only were both John & Marcio both knowledgeable and professional, but they were incredibly efficient. On the day they began our installation, their team quickly removed all of our existing laminate, carpet, and tile flooring.

Upon doing so, we learned there were a few issues with our foundation (concrete slab) that they meticulously remedied before putting down our new flooring. This attention to detail really put our mind at ease and gave us even more confidence that we made the right decision by choosing Hurst Hardwoods. The photos I've uploaded are of the floor we chose (color name is Junction Valley).

It is constructed in the widest (9") and longest (72") plank lengths on the market that we could find. Independent of how functional this flooring has been for our family, these planks have really helped open up our home's interior space. Our floor not only looks like "real wood" but is much more comfortable underfoot due to the thick padding attached to the underside of each plank.

This padding also has made our floor much quieter than our old laminate floor. And, they are super easy to clean. This vinyl plank flooring by Spring Tech is honestly one of the best decisions we've made to "upgrade" our home. Our family is grateful for our experience with Hurst Hardwoods. The Spring Tech product is a great value purchase, highly functional for our family's lifestyle, and has provided beautiful complimentary aesthetics to our home. Highly recommended for anyone currently looking to purchase vinyl plank flooring! And, if you're local to Tampa, you won't find a better installation team!

After months of research and frustration that I could not find the flooring I wanted at a reasonable price, I stumbled upon Hurst Hardwoods and what a breath of fresh air! My salesperson, Matt, was knowledgeable and so professional-he was personable and patient every step of the way. Matt answered my questions but more importantly he asked me what I was looking for and really listened to what I wanted and needed and made excellent suggestions.

The price is amazing and shipping was fast. Our floors (Sierra engineered white oak) are beautiful and we could not be happier. Our contractor is impressed with the quality of the wood and everyone who sees them agrees they are gorgeous. The flooring gave our home a much needed facelift and brought our 90s colonial into the 21st century. We would not hesitate to recommend Hurst Hardwoods and Matt.

After a great deal of research on Amazon and other home building sites, I found Hurst Hardwoods for procuring engineered hardwood floor material for an addition to our house. Evie was the sales person who helped me in matching the color of the wood to our existing floor and sent me some samples to be sure it will be a good match. Their price is quite reasonable and the materials arrived in a week as promised. By mistake, we ordered couple of extra boxes then what we needed and she helped me in getting those returned back to the warehouse. Very positive experience overall!

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to John S. from Hurst Hardwoods, for being so professional, kind and helpful to resolve my flooring issue. I live in San Diego, and any company I spoke to, could not find unfinished solid maple hardwood 4'' by '' for the two rooms in our house within a six-week period, not to mention the price. John made that happen in two weeks, including the delivery and a great price for the quality of the wood. I feel so lucky to have found John and Hurst Hardwoods through my internet search, and cannot wait to get started with our project. Highly recommend!

We ordered 7 1/2 wide European French Oak Arizona engineered flooring. Outstanding quality product at a very reasonable price. Great customer service too.

We highly recommend Hurst Hardwoods. Lee Hurst and Sayff are professional, responsive, and courteous. We ordered 1400 square feet of White Oak [7 inches wide, up to 10' feet long], and also ordered White Oak Treads and Risers. We received what we ordered, and our wood floors look amazing! In Southern California, every where we went, people wanted to skyrocket the price of unfinished wood, or stated that they had no availability.

Others tried to force us to buy engineered. Hurst had the unfinished hardwood. Hurst had the wood at a substantial savings. Ordering from Hurst, we saved substantially - but maintained the premium quality. The money we saved from Hurst has allowed us to further other projects. Thank you Lee and thank you Sayff. Highly recommend this business. If you are looking for unfinished hardwood, this is the ONLY place you should be buying from.

Beautiful wood. Beautiful service. Beautiful prices! We almost spent twice the amount at a local lumber yard, but after doing some research, found Hurst. They sent samples super quickly and our order arrived ahead of schedule. HIGHLY recommended!

When we began considering replacement of the flooring throughout our entire home, we exhausted every option and researched dozens of brands and suppliers. We found Hurst Hardwoods at first as a supplier online, which easily offered the best pricing on engineered hardwood. After learning they were based here locally in Oldsmar we went into the showroom. Matt was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process of deciding what we wanted and got us the best price on our flooring. We decided against DIY and used the Hurst installers as well. Gorgeous floors, excellent prices and excellent customer service. These guys are really impressive. Not sure how they can price so low for the great quality. They were very kind about sending different samples, so we could really be sure which color we wanted. Lee Hurst and Matthew were just great to work with. We ended up with the prefinished engineered hardwoods, 10 1/4 wide plank Euro French White Oak, Blue Ridge stain with 4mm wear layer. It looks even more stunning than we expected.

Started with a sales rep who didn't follow through, but then I reached Lee Hurst. With his help and Matthew's, I got the samples I needed, got all my questions answered and everything went smoothly from there. Delivery was fine, and the installed floors looks stunning. Great product! Brazilian teak is great. Variable color but it can be worked with. Solid construction, pricing, and milling is great. Super fast delivery too. Very happy so far.

The product I purchased was exactly as they advertised on-line and it arrived quickly.

One of the sales rep was promised to delivery our material between 2 to 7 business days, I was requesting tracking number and for some reason I was needed to call in to get the tracking number, they said they couldn't send us email because it was rejected. They did not even care to call us or providing us information. When we called in suddenly the sales rep says it's an estimate time arrive which means it is not any more 2 to 7 business days arrival time.

They provided me with a tracking number that would not given to me if I would not call in and delivery company name "ABF". We called ABF company and gave them the tracking number, they estimate it to arrive between February 10-14 which means it's more close to 12 and 14 business days shipment, I was requesting to expedite the shipment and ABF responded that the hardwood company Will need to call and pay additional amount to expedite the delivery.

I was putting Hurst hardwood on the line with us and requested to expedite the delivery. I was so pissed that they couldn't give me the right information upfront that I could actually expedite the delivery and finish with our remodel. They didn't even offer to or gave me the information that you could expedite the delivery. Why not?!?!?! Don't get me wrong they did give good prices for the product but awful service (I wondering how the quality of the material is), they put us and ABF company on hold for more than 20 minutes and then hang up.

I couldn't even expedite the delivery myself unfortunately and Hurst Hardwood is the only one that could expedite our delivery, our client was also willing to pay extra for expediting the delivery. Now they're closed and we losing another day because nobody's answering in the office and they hang up on us. Was giving two stars because of the good price Our client is disappointed based on the false information that was giving to us.

Recently ordered and received some wood flooring from Hurst Hardwoods. I spoke with Matt over the phone. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Matt even sent me some samples. The delivery went without a hitch and the follow-up by Matt was impeccable. The flooring was competitively priced and was of excellent quality. My wife and I are building a home in Treasure Island and needed hardwood for the great room and kitchen. 3 years ago Hurst sold us American cherry for our remodel in Seminole, FL, and the wood looks better every year. We competitively shopped every flooring outlet in the Tampa Bay area, including the Big Box outlets, but couldn't find the wood we had in mind for our Coastal interior till we returned to Hurst.

We found an Antique White French Oak in the right width and length at a great price, so Matt ordered the wood from North Carolina. John came out and measured the job, and matched our builder's price on installation. The floors were installed this week in a single day. The 5 man crew of installers were punctual, did a great job, and left the place spotless. We couldn't be happier.

I begun my search for new floors at the usual stores, but wasn't happy with selection and the explanations provided. Thanks to google, I found Hurst Hardwood. First of all, selection was outstanding. Secondly and most important, they understood my needs. My salesman, Matt, took his time to understand my project and answer any questions I had.

He diligently explained all the differences, pros and cons and ensured that I ended up with the most beautiful floor. Based on recommendations, I also ordered few custom pieces and the process was very simple and smooth. I was very pleasantly surprised how fast my custom order was completed. I would never shop at big box stores again. You just can't compare knowledge and expertise of Hurts to a big box store. Highly recommended!

This place was AWFUL beyond belief. I spent almost $20000 on flooring that is now sitting in a burn pile! Craig was terrible and told me too bad, I bought the flooring AS IS. I have countless emails from him stating that the waste would be 20% because there were some cracked boards. The original waste was 40% but that was only the start of the problem.

I put this over 2 types of flooring-Geo thermal heat and regular plywood. BOTH cracked and buckled. This stuff had acclimated for more than a year! Craig had personally spoken with the warm board folks and this type of flooring is 100% the only type to be used. I had the flooring looked at by other professionals and it appears that there was a MAJOR manufacturing issue and the stuff was 100% defective.

It has NOTHING to so with the stuff underneath because it cracked and buckled over BOTH types of rooms! So I got taken for over $15000! The other flooring I ordered was fine and is over geo thermal heat so Craig's nasty response that this was the problem was incorrect. They refused to address the issue and told me "too bad". To buy something "as is" does not mean you pay $15000 for someone's defective garbage.

I am out ALL of the money and would NEVER recommend these folks to ANYONE! I have had to order new flooring, have ALL (about 5000 sq ft) of flooring removed and now have to have it all installed! What should have cost me $20000 now cost me $40000 but at least I don't have to work with these folks ever again! STAY AWAY! Also- I ordered this from Craig's outlet The Discount Flooring place and they say they are BBB approved. The BBB says no and they refused to answer my complaint. They are not accredited as far as you can tell from the BBB's records. Obviously you see why.

I searched for quality hard wood flooring from several major discounters and Hurst Hardwoods blew them away on pricing and quality. They saved me over $2,000 even with shipping! I

I placed an online order for flooring. The order went out by the end of that same day! I ended up needing to order more material after the contractor installing it messed something up. The sales rep I spoke with was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The floor looks great installed.

Working with Hurst Hardwoods in Florida was a great experience. My wife loved the floor. Craig Hurst the owner was terrific to deal with.
