The story of Schumacher & Co. is the story of an American dream. In 1927, Carl Schumacher, who came to the United States from Germany, started our business from his home in Bellevue, Kentucky. His son, Ken graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in building construction technology, and Schumacher & Co became a father and son venture.
Ken took over the business in 1976, enhancing Schumacher & Co.'s craftsmanship, technology, and professionalism making us one of the most sought after wood flooring experts in the Midwest.

It's the popular thing to do these days, so most flooring manufacturers are touting "Green" products. Truth is, these products vary widely in the extent to which they are "Green." At Schumacher & Co. Custom Hardwood Floors, we can help you choose a product that is people- and/or planet-friendly, based upon the third-party certifications that verify whether a product is better for indoor air quality or the Earth's resources.
Schumacher & Co. Custom Hardwood Floors offers the Greater Cincinnati region's broadest range of hardwood floor finishing solutions - from traditional oil-based polyurethane to low and zero-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) options. By providing this range, we offer a product that meets the individual needs of our customers, including those who do not want to detect any chemical odor in their homes.

Mellissa and her team were amazing! From the initial estimate to completing the job, the entire team was professional and had great attention to detail for my home floor refinishing project. My 1980's light honey oak were transformed to a warm darker stain with minimal dust. They were very nice and always able to accommodate my changing home renovation schedule. Highly recommend!

My engineered hardwood floor developed cracks in several boards in the kitchen area. After Hounding Schumacher and their associates for a year they tried unsuccessfully to provide replacement boards and I've been told no other attempts will be made to fix the issue. This company does not honor their warranty.

I do love the job that they did on the hardwood floors. They are gorgeous! However, we had just gotten the entire inside and outside of our house painted just a few days before, so I told them to be extra careful. There are marks and scratches on the front door and walls. They were also suppose to fix/replace a small board, but didn't fix it. I brought it to their attention Monday, but haven't gotten back to me (today is Thursday night).

Great experience with Schumacher wood floors. They replaced water damaged flooring in several areas and it's hard to tell new flooring from the old. It's almost a perfect match. We were a little suspect when they ask for 50% down payment before work started but there were no issues past that. From Roy the salesperson to Paul the installer all work was professional and exceeded our expectations. We'll look to Schumacher for any future flooring purchases.

This is in response to the review posted by Russ G. Schumacher & Co. has just been made aware of your comments, and we are not sure we remember your inquiry. But as a general rule, we try to avoid the liability of giving step-by-step instructions to someone who is finishing his own floors when we will have no control over the quality of work and, therefore, cannot guarantee a good outcome. Also, due to the labor-intensive nature of the work as well as the specialized equipment and training needed, there is a safety concern for recommending processes that could lead to injury for untrained people.
In addition, our schedules are booked out months in advance, and our managers are busy supervising the work crews they do control to guarantee a good outcome. So while we always try to give helpful advice, we are not able to maintain a DIY help line. We are sorry that you were unhappy with your experience.

Contacted with a question about my vintage 1952 hardwood oak floors and was met with answer saying "I have heard of others having success in searching the internet and YouTube." Apparently I should have gone to the internet, rather than this company. Steer clear of this place if you have any kind of question that takes time away from their valuable search for your money. Greed. Plain and simple.
