Highly recommend Richard. He was responsive from start to finish and did great quality work. His prices were also reasonable. What We appreciated most apart from the quality of work, was that he delivered on his promise to have everything done in time for our first open house. Reliable, reasonably priced, good quality work, and no drama - to me that's a sure bet. Our floors look great. We highly recommend his work.

Excellent quality work, easy communication. We've worked with these guys twice, once installing, and once refinishing - both times were great. Extremely professional and nice to work with. Would highly recommend.

We hired Rich's team to sand and refinish our floors, install new baseboards, and paint our apartment. We would wholeheartedly recommend NY Floorman for the following reasons: 1) Quality of work The painting job, baseboards, and floor came out looking BEAUTIFUL. Almost brought me to tears. The prior floors were scratched up and needed some TLC and the new ones were clean, scratch free, and the color was as expected.

The paint job was thorough and the suggestion to paint the closets was spot-on; they look 1000x better now. 2) Professionalism Every appointment I've had with Rich & team has started on time or early. Rich had replied to every email we've sent within a couple hours. (This is important to me because some contractors seem to be email illiterate, and that is our preferred method of communication.) The work was completed within the estimated timeframe.

The job had a foreman, Louis, overseeing it. He was our point person and made sure everything went smoothly. At the end of the job, they have you do a walk-through to make sure everything is to your liking. You tell them what needs fixing, and they fix it. 3) Expertise Neither of us are decorators. Rich's color suggestions for the walls and baseboards were spot on.

We also had not contemplated putting in new baseboards, and Rich mentioned that might look nice. He was not pushy or up-selling at all. It was a great suggestion. 4) Cost We got quotes for the work from four different contractors. Rich's pricing was in line with two of the others, which we thought was reasonable. (The last contractor was much higher than the other 3.)

I had an approximate quote over the phone before a long weekend. Their estimate was 9000- 8000 dollars higher than other competing contractors for just standard wood. Nothing fancy. I thought the price was steep for standard wood flooring. I was able to call the wood supplier directly and find high end Canadian brand for less. The contractor from New York Floorman was nice but price was on the high side.

Rich and his crew really were great. I had to replace my floorboards since my neighbour damaged my flooring. Rich was super nice and was always available whenever I had a question for him. His team was also very professional and they did a great job. Will be recommended him to anyone who needs their floors redone! Thanks Rich!

2nd time user of NY Floorman, this time I was unsure of which color to go with. I knew I wanted darker but could not tell how the colors would look in my apartment. They did 3 samples. one was far superior and that is what they did. THey look amazing. Last time I kept the same color, and they also did a great job so I went back. Fair prices, easy to deal with.

I'm at the tail end of a horrendous renovation, and I needed my parquet floors sanded. I didn't want to have my contractor do it because he overcharges egregiously. So I contacted Richard. His guys were FANTASTIC. Not only did they color-match some new tiles that I had had put in and do a fantastic job on the sanding, but they were on time, moved the furniture without a scratch. Richard is really responsive via email, and he was so flexible (I had to change the date due to the construction). The job was completed quickly and expertly. And the prices were very competitive.

I have a great experience with the professionalism of Richard and NY Florrman. They have done a fantastic job re-doing the entire floor of my apartment. They are flexible with the work schedule, and takes great care moving the furniture around. Highly recommended to anyone who looks for a painless experience of floor work.

*Note that we went through the quote process, but did not actually have the work done. This is a review on his professionalism up to that point, as I cannot comment on the end work.* We had a cleaner spill oven-off onto a client's hardwood floors recently. They got a quote from one of their contractors which came in absurdly high at $2800 ($450 just to "cover" the area).

I saw Rich had good Yelp ratings so gave him a call for a second estimate. He was very professional on the phone, and gave me a quote after I had only provided him pictures (his price was much more reasonable and in line with what we have seen for similar situations in other cities). We also had him go over to the client's to take a look at the actual damage to the hardwood floor; he kept in touch with me throughout the entire process and explained what would needed to be done. Although the client opted to go with another service provider, I will definitely be calling Rich in the future due to his professionalism and fair pricing.

Outrageous and insulting! Richard quoted me $12,000.00 to lay 400 sq ft of hard wood flooring that we already bought refinished and we had the plywood. He claimed that it required work out of the ordinary, which was incorrect. It was a hallway and all he had to do was lay down plywood, takeout the stair balusters, which were wood and we were going to dispose of them at the end, and then lay down our hard wood.

I think he just saw the address and dollars in front of his eyes. He did NOT give us a legitimate and honest quote. He actually quoted us $30 per sq ft, which constitutes over billing and theft in by book. He wasted my time. The going rate is between $1.5 to $6 per sq ft. SpeedyFitIt quoted me a total of $5 per sq ft ($2,000). UPDATE OCT. 9, 2014: Richard is lying.

He knows exactly who I am when he came by 26 Bond Street and made me that ridiculous quote. He is trying to save face. I have a witness and documented evidence from him. If he calls me a liar/fraud again, I am going to sue him for defamation.

Excellent results! I got my floors sanded, stained and sealed. The quote was fair and the floors turned out great! The team was professional and kept me informed on their progress-- even sent a text picture to me at work so I could see the room after it was stained! I would highly recommend them!

June 2013 Richard, Miguel, Mauricio and their crew were great. I contacted 5 companies, narrowed it to 3 to interview on site, and New York Floorman LLC was the clear choice. Richard was the only person to send me estimated costs in advance, provide me with images to consider finishes before hand. He was on time to the initial site meeting to take measurements and provide a detailed estimate.

He was approachable, replied to emails quickly and gave me a sense of confidence that won him the job. I eliminated one company for missing the initial meeting (he called to say he'd be 2 hours late - this is unacceptable to me). I had them remove a partial wall, patch what was left over, and sand and refinish the floors. The guys on the site were great, punctual and reliable.

They provided on site samples of the finishes for me to make a selection. (I would ask for this in advance if you want to see multiple colors/tones). The job took 4 days from start to finish, and was completed on time, as promised. Richard's price was competitive and the work was well done. They were respectful and listened to my concerns, described the work in detail and let me know what they would work on each day. I feel confident in recommending them to anyone. I will consult them again when I am ready to do more work. They are great.

Great experience from start to finish. Was a pleasure to get such a quick quote, NY Floorman provided the right insurance to my building in no time, and the workmen were a pleasure. I was on a short timetable, and NY Floorman came through, I'll definitely use them again.

I've used Rich and his team twice. I don't know that I ever worked with a better contractor. He and his guys are trustworthy and extremely efficient workers. They start the job right away and finish in a timely manner. Their prices are fair and the quality of work fantastic. Truly a gem to the industry. Highly Highly recommend.

We have used NY Floorman to renew the floor in our apartment. They have done a tremendously good job. They promised a lot and delivered even more: The previous floor was uneven, glued to the floor with no subfloor below it. They had to remove the entire floor piece by piece after moving all the furniture and then install the new floor around a kitchen island and small corners and within closets.

We left the apartment for Richard and his crew to do the work and were obvious anxious when we came back. The floor was absolutely perfect, the apartment clean, no dust whatsoever. This was a very difficult job and they did it absolutely perfect. I highly recommend NY Floorman!
