Porcelain has become popular in residential flooring over the last several years. Most people want to buy porcelain because it is the same color and pattern all the way through the tile. However, this is true on less than 5% of porcelain tiles, called through body porcelain. The majority of porcelain tiles are glazed porcelain and when chipped, the porcelain shows.
We have a large and varied selection of over 750 tiles at great prices. Our tiles come in a range of different sizes and styles, from 1"x1" hexagon to 24"x48" floor tiles. We also have many floor tiles with matching or coordinating tub, shower, and decorative tiles. Several of our tiles are great imitations of natural stone and natural wood.
You can add a beautiful and handy shelf to your shower or bath in a fraction of the time with a Duk Liner. Duk Liner saves labor, turning a three hour burdensome project into a 20 minute installation. In addition, Duk Liner is easy to install and doesn't leak. While the Duk Liner is ideally suited for bathroom installations, contractors have found a variety of uses for the Duk Liner. They include recessed hose bibs, uniform niches for artwork, pictures, and collectibles, irrigation valve and control panels; use your imagination.
To help you estimate how much your new floor will cost, we've broken down a typical job into its different parts. For each part of the typical job, we've given the low and high estimates for you. All estimates are per square foot. These estimates are for tiling on concrete. Tiling on plywood (like upstairs or on a pier and beam foundation) might cost extra if you have to install a thicker sub-floor first. If you do plan on doing the work yourself, we can help! We'll spend the time to talk to you about your particular project.

Let me begin by saying what a great experience we had with the Tile Guy. They were recommended to me by my niece who had just redone her floors and used them. The store doesn't look like much from the outside with tiles and samples everywhere. You go inside and again there are tiles and samples everywhere. The selection was better than we had seen at the other locations we had visited.
Even better they allow you to take home and samples to see what it will look like in your own home. These are large samples too not teeny tiny. Once we selected our Luxury Vinyl Planking we were told it would be a few weeks before they could get it in. To our surprise it came in early and we were able to get our project started. We chose to go with on of the installers they recommended Edgar Velasco who had also installed my niece's floors much to their satisfaction. Edgar was great from the very beginning.
He picked up the flooring from the warehouse and brought it to our house. We were replacing the existing tile with the flooring so there was alot of demo involved. It got very dusty but Edgar and his crew took every precaution to protect our new furniture and everything that needed to be moved - a large number of large pieces of furniture. They originally said the job would take seven days but they finished in four to our surprise and happiness.
They cleaned everything up and returned all our furniture to its original location. The floors look amazing. We are very happy with how great they turned out. Edgar and his crew are top notch. We enjoyed the experience so much that we hired Edgar to come back and install the new tile around our fireplace. I went back to the Tile Guy and we must have looked at 20 - 25 different tiles and looked at the various grout options to go with each.
The guy we worked with was so patient with our indecision and not knowing what we wanted. He offered a number of options. We ended up bringing home 7-10 samples before deciding on the tile we wanted. We ordered the tile and it came in very quick. Edgar was able to work us into his schedule to get the work done right away. Again we are extremely happy with the final look of the fireplace and couldn't be happier.
Do yourself a favor and go first to the Tile Guy for your flooring and tile needs and then I highly recommend Edgar for the installation of your project. You won't regret it.

All the folks at The Tile Guy are super helpful and informed. They helped us choose and order new tile for our crumbling front porch and walked us through various options. They also referred us to Edgar Velasco to do the install. Edgar was great to work with. He gave a quick and fair quote. He communicated with us throughout the job. And his crew did high quality work.

Would give them six stars if allowed. The entire team was fantastic, professional and delivered sound advice. As we began the process, they allowed us to take home a couple samples to match with our paint, furniture and fixtures. Once we settled on the design, their pricing and timeliness to procure the products were terrific. But what separated them from being good to great was that Kevin responded during his vacation to get us one more box that was needed to finish the project.
We had the crew on-site, they were near completion but due to measurement issues and changes to scope, we needed one additional box of tile. Kevin got the product from the supplier, allowed us to use his house account for pre-payment, and the project was finished during the week before Christmas. This family owned business was stellar from start to finish. Having been in Austin since 1988, I can't say that about many businesses that I've worked with in over 30 years.

We got our vinyl plank wood floors and our file from The Tile Guy. Despite our floors being backordered by the manufacturer, TTG made sure we were frequently updated on the status and held the tile for weeks when it came in before the vinyl planks. The Tile Guy also linked us up with Edgar Velasco and his team who were absolutely incredible. When our backordered flooring came in earlier than expected, Edgar was able to accommodate that by moving our install date up significantly.
We were told it would be about a 7-9 day job, but Edgar and his guys got it done in 4! Edgar is incredibly knowledgeable and trustworthy. He sent multiple photos and videos of updates throughout the week and communicated seamlessly with us the whole way through.

Absolutely perfect service. I came in with some questions about a specific brand of hardwood. After learning that it was going to be out of stock for the next 3 months, I started exploring other options - i.e. getting another hardwood of a similar color/grain or getting a wood that contrasts my existing hardwood. Rather than trying to sell me whatever they had to make a quick buck (which they VERY easily could have done), they actually recommended that I wait and even gave me some advice on how I could get the hardwood in other ways. Though I didn't pay them a dime, they were amazing to me. If I or anybody I know needs wood/tiles, I know exactly where to go. A+++

Have had a few good experiences with them over the years, especially with customer service. This time we had a small hiccup when we received the wrong color shower floor tile. I didn't notice when I picked it up and the contractor installed it. Kevin, and I assume he was the owner because he was so involved, did not blink an eye and made it right. It's obvious he cares about your business.

I am so impressed with The Tile Guy! We wanted to install hardwood floors in our entire house (which is more than 2,000 sq ft) and I was recommended to them by Austin Hardwood Flooring, our contractor. Selection: Before visiting their shop, I have looked at samples at Home Depot (which I had to pay for) and a few other places. The samples I got at other places were tiny and not reliable.
When we visited The Tile Guy for the first time, I was floored (pun intended) at the amount of selections they have. I was like a kid in a toy house when I could see dozens samples of the same color tone I wanted. Each of their board is huge, about 20x30 in (contains about 3-4 wood panels) so I could completely visualize how it would look on my floor.
When I asked for samples to take home, they told me I could take the whole board home and take as many as I want. Bringing them back is completely based on a honor system - no deadline (In fact, I still have a couple of samples at my house but I'll bring them back after the project is done - I promise!) Price: I've already had my favorite picked out at another shop when I visited The Tile Guy.
So I was floored when I found out that we could get the exact same brand and product at The Tile Guy for 60% of the price. I was in disbelief and thought they made a mistake. But when I got the official quote for 2,400 sq ft, it was for real. I am still in disbelief. Service: The guys at The Tile Guy (I talked to Kevin and Barry) were super helpful and attentive.
They answered all my questions and were very helpful in finding all the type/color of wood I wanted. Both times I was there, the shop was bustling with customers but they were very patient with me and helped bring all the samples to the car. I will go back to the Tile Guy for all future projects! Their shop is not fancy like the other pretentious places, but that's why they don't mark up 40% of the cost. Definitely recommend!

We've bought tile for several projects from The Tile Guy. For our master bath reno, we bought some 4x12 Dolomite for the shower walls. The guy we hired to do the installation (not affiliated with The Tile Guy) did such a poor job, such bad workmanship, that we had to tear it out and start over. We needed the replacement tiles immediately (long story) and The Tile Guy couldn't get it for a week, so we ended up going to the big box tile store.
Think they beat The Tile Guy on price? Wrong. They were almost twice as expensive (don't believe the big box's price match guarantee). The Tile Guy was so great in helping me do business with their competitor. They just want their customers to be happy, no matter what it takes. The Tile Guy is a classic example of how the service from the little guy is 100x better than the big box. And in this case, their price was almost 2x better. You won't regret doing business with The Tile Guy.

Great selection, staff and pricing. Forgot his name, but the guy with the hat helped me come up with a design based on pictures I showed him of existent bathroom. The only drawback is that I bought more than I needed and they have a 15% restocking fee on returns. all around a great experience. Made me feel good supporting local business, and everything is outdoor so its covid ready.

After gutting and rebuilding a sizable home, I have now had lots of experience with big purchases and customer service, and the standout through it all has been "The Tile Guy." I needed over 7000sf of flooring and tile, and I wanted the most for my money. what we all want, regardless of budget, value! After shopping almost every local and many online sources, I continuously would land with Kevin at the The Tile Guy!
Not only is he promptly accessible (I have him on speed dial now- only sort of kidding), his prices even beat my contractor's trade pricing; it was interesting when my contractor's wood installer had to tuck his tail in between his legs when he would "lose money" trying to match the Tile Guy. Same thing happened with my 18X18 marble. and mosaics too.
Same brands, same everything. the gorgeous rift cut white oak came from a brand he doesn't even carry on the floor, but he still got it and beat his competitors on pricing and service. He also located the unfindable and returned the unreturnable. Interacting with his various suppliers, I caught bits and pieces that lead me to suspect that his many years of great customer service attracts a high volume of business, and the suppliers don't want to lose his volume so his pricing trumps all. That's a win-win when you want to buy flooring/tile. best customer service, best price!
After shopping the fanciest stores in town and the tried and true Emser, Interceramic, Daltile, etc., I bought about 90% of the exact same product from him with generous savings. The only exception being a few specific specialty hand-made items. His showroom location is not fancy, but I'd rather save the money. And during Covid, he has maintained the same level of customer service throughout it all. accessible, hardworking and giving assistance even after being paid.
Over the last 18 months of working with The Tile Guy, I have gotten to know his staff and structure and this guy is a gem to them as well. he takes good care of his employees too and their happy attitudes show it. Businesses like this deserve our support now more than ever! I wish every person I had to team up with on this project was as wonderful as The Tile Guy!
He was recommended to me by a friend, and in turn, I'll surely continue recommending him for years to come! He is the BEST in town! Thank you, thank you for everything! Pictures coming later :)

Kevin with the tile guy was amazing. We called looking for a product that was installed by a large production builder. Kevin found the color and ordered it within the hour of us calling. The floor is picked up and the installers starting installing. After the 1st room we noticed it was 2 colors. Turns out that they shipped 2 colors from the warehouse but the boxes were so similar that it was difficult to tell.
We had to tear some out and replace it therefore we are now short. Called Kevin and it was hassle free. He asked for thebold stuff back and replace what we had to tear out at no additional cost. It's easy for people to be nice when things go right but it's really how they treat you when mistakes are made.

The absolute best customer service in the history of the universe. Our contractor ordered tile for a bathroom remodel that was later completely botched. We ended up having to rip out three quarters of the work and start over with a new installer. When we went back to The Tile Guy for materials, they found a fantastic alternative in stock that saved us a ton of money, and then sold it to us **at cost** after they learned about the way our project went south. Super, super nice people.
This is the second time we've ordered tile from them and every interaction has been friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and generous. If you need to buy tile, this is the ONLY place in town to go.

After trekking around town looking at the limited tile choices in various Austin stores, I was about to settle for whatever I could find in my price range. A friend who had just remodeled her house suggested the Tile Guy on Anderson Lane, so I decided to try one more place. I should have started here! Their storefront is a very small building, not a huge warehouse, and it is packed with tile samples and even some wood floor samples.
There are even tile samples stacked in racks along the covered front porch. They carry tile from suppliers in Austin and beyond, and their prices are fair. They don't carry quantities in stock, so you will have to order. They will let you borrow a sample to take home before you decide. I got most of my orders in a couple of days, except for one that the supplier had to restock from out of state.
This is a family run business and the owner, Kevin, works there with several employees, all of whom are helpful. I worked with Barry and Glenn most often besides Kevin. They all made an exhausting project far easier. They do take credit cards, and be aware that they do pass on a restocking fee from the suppliers if you have to make returns. They are super busy all the time, but they don't require appointments.
Just be prepared to be patient if the showroom is full when you walk in. They aren't open late on weekdays, but they're open Saturday, unlike some other local building supply houses.
