Advanced Wood Floors

We recently had our carpets removed and our original wood floors restored in our house. Our house was built in the 1940's, so the wood was quite old. We had the wood restored in two rooms and a hallway, and a new wood floor installed in an addition to the house that did not have a wood floor. Bottom line, the floors look great! They were able to closely match the new floor to the old floor.

The process seemed to take longer than expected, but that was probably due to the fact the old floor had a lot of carpet glue that needed to be removed. I would most certainly use Imperial Wood Floors again and highly recommend them.

We have used Imperial Wood Flooring twice now for restoration projects. First in 2016 and again in 2022. Our first project was a simple sand/seal/finish of a room that had previously had carpet glued to the floor. Jeff and his team were responsive and quick and the work turned out great. We just got done with a much larger project which included redoing ~1000sq ft of original, 100+ yr old hardwood floors throughout our home.

The transformation was absolutely amazing. Our entire house feels like a new home after having the restoration done. The floors look incredible and Jeff and his team were able to bring out the natural beauty of our original hardwood floors. We had several repair jobs done in addition to the floor restoration, including: relacing a large square that was installed to cover a floor vent, relacing a hole that had a stove pipe vent going through it and filling in and repairing a floor separation that ran the length of our first floor.

We also had our original staircase treads sanded and sealed. The work took the better part of a week, but it was absolutely worth it and the finished work is stunning to say the least. We would HIGHLY recommend Jeff and Imperial Wood Flooring for any work you need. He and his team are professional, responsive and fair. We are glad we've been able to use them twice now and will use them again if the need ever arises.

Well worth the money! Jeff and his skilled team transformed our floors to their natural beauty, even though it was a challenge that called for them to go above and beyond. We had Jeff and his team at Imperial Wood Floors to our house to install a new maple floor in our family. This is the third time we have used Imperial the past few years and couldn't be happier. The delivery of materials, installation of floor and completion of the project was done as scheduled. Jeff and his team even fixed a potential problem where the tile in the foyer met the hardwood. Having a significant height difference between the tile and wood, Jeff came up with a solution that did not cost extra or delay the project. The outcome was exactly what we wanted and looks great! The team was thorough, respectful and delivered a great product on time.

After trying to work with another company that traded endless emails without ever looking at the existing floors, I contacted Jeff at Imperial. He replied quickly, looked at the house within a couple days, and gave me a fair estimate. He installed new subflooring throughout the downstairs, then he and his team laid 450 sq. ft. of prefinished hickory flooring that I'd purchased in advance.

The floors look great, and I always knew when Jeff's team would be there. They stayed on schedule and on budget. And (thanks to some jobs that got postponed while waiting for wood to arrive) they did it within a couple weeks of when I contacted them--unheard of in today's crazy real estate/remodeling market! Jeff and his team did an amazing job refinishing our floors on the entire main floor of our house! Their dust containment system was fantastic, we hardly had any dust at all after they were done. He was willing to take the time to discuss all options and possible outcomes and we could not be happier with the results. We also needed an area patched in that turned out great. Wow! Our floors are beautiful! Jeff and his crew did an amazing job refinishing the oak floors in a home we bought. They know what they're doing and exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with how our floor turned out! Jeff and his team were able to match new ash flooring with existing ash floor in a remodel. There were also some areas that needed patching. My wife and I highly recommend Imperial Wood Floors. We've done two projects with them and have been very satisfied with both. The first was a 1955 house with original oak floors throughout. A 4'x4' section needed to be torn out and replaced. They did that and refinished the complete floor with a natural finish. The result was excellent, with the new section matching beautifully with the original.

The second was a 1981 house with Bruce Hardwood 3/4 oak flooring with a bevel on each edge of each board. This was refinished with an Early American stain, and again the results were excellent. Their work was on-time, fairly priced, and with great results.

Words cannot describe how impressed we are with the work done by Jeff and his team. We had Jeff consult on refinishing neglected original hardwood in a home we were purchasing as well as putting new hardwood in our living room/dining room area. He was professional, quick with his estimate, and more than willing to answer the multiple questions we had about the process.

Once the project was booked and we had moved into the home we discovered the previous owners had allowed a pet to destroy the carpeted area we intended to have hardwood placed. We emailed Jeff in a panic after realizing our subfloor would need to be replaced. Within the hour Jeff had us set up with a contractor to have it replaced. He went above and beyond for us time and again!

When the day finally arrived to have our floors put in/refinished Jeff's crew showed up on time and got right to work. They finished the project a day and a half earlier than anticipated and the results are AMAZING. Our old hardwood floors look brand new and the new hardwood flows so wonderful in our home. The results are spectacular. If you decide to chose Imperial Wood Floors for your project you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I am Extremely impressed with how well our hard wood floors turned out. Jeff and his team were excellent. We have owned our home for 15 years and our floors look like new. We were concerned about dust and I was impressed how well Imperials dust containment system worked. I Highly recommend Imperial for anyone who wants Great workmanship at a fair price.

These guys are great. We moved into a new home with worn flooring and asked Imperial to refinish it. Jeff gave us a good price (more than some other contractors, but there was no question he knows what he's doing), and he plus Nathan and Dustin did an outstanding job. It wasn't a standard job. In one room there was some chemical reaction between the finish and something the previous owners had put on the floor.

This is where do-it-yourself knowledge ends because what would you do as a homeowner when confronted with such a problem? Even though it was early Friday evening when this appeared, Nathan and Dustin re-sanded the entire room, then put on a new coat of sealer, and then a first coat of finish. Instead of yellowed wood with a couple of worn patches we now have pretty oak that will last for years.

These guys are the real deal! The owner is honest and personable without pressuring your decision. Price was extremely reasonable for quality of work! I can not thank Imperial Hardwood Floors for updating my main level and creating a streamline, seamless flow between new and existing hardwoods.
