I hired an inspector (Cort Dunlap) listed on the NWFA website. The inspector took payment for the inspection and missed a number of promised dates to deliver the report. It has been over a month and I still don't have the inspection report. I contacted NWFA to file a complaint and was told I would need to pay them $50 to initiate the complaint. Membership dues should be used to pay for complaints and other administrative tasks.
It is clear the NWFA wants to protect its members rather than the customers placing trust in their certifications. I would recommend not using the NWFA as a reliable source for anything related to wood flooring. If you are in Washington State, do not do business with Cort Dunlap.

We purchased our floor through Empire Today. It is terrible quality! They have been terrible when I tried to deal with them. The floor has pealed away, not even in high traffic areas. It was sold to us as Life long flooring. It's been maybe 6 yrs. It is the worse flooring I could of bought. I'm thinking it was some they knew was poor quality and sold it anyway.
