I visited Chelsea Plank Flooring with my husband this morning. We were helped by Donna who was the sweetest. She walked us through all our options and was so knowledgeable. I highly recommend Chelsea Plank Flooring to anyone who is looking for new floors. Thank you, Donna! I can't wait to get my new floors.

Do not recommend. Just finishing installing a wood Hickory Wood Floor. The boards were warped & bowed, knots holes that go all the way thru on about 30% of them. Some board off by 1/16 Not the quality I paid for. My installer has taken twice as long to lay this wood floor and it working all the problems out. This is my first time ordering and putting in real wood floor so I wasn't sure what to expect.
We started laying the floor and thought because it was real wood that we would just have problems with a few but we were wrong because it was most of the boards. I usually do not write reviews but wanted to warn the next potential buyer. The company I bought it thru said we should have called in the beginning but I guess we didn't think we would have problems all the way thru. And I thought when they received this order they would have looked at it and gone thru to see if it was the quality I ordered.

Being generous with a 1 because zero isn't an option. Absolutely horrible customer service. Had a floor professionally installed by the book by a licensed contractor we've used for years. Within a week the flooring began to peel or chip in every crack. After many touch ups of our own, our contractor had a rep from CP come who said it was definitely a manufacturer issue.
Once he got a call from Chelsea he was told it had to our "wear and tear" and nothing would be done! Side note: again, I said within a week the problem began AND we don't even live in the house. The contractor has eaten man hours for more than one mess up of theirs I know. I feel terrible for him having to replace so much of their mistakes. Sad.

We are so pleased with the quality of the wood flooring from Chelsea Plank Flooring! In 2012, We have installed pre-finished 3 Clear Grade Golden Oak, in the natural finish in our living room, dining room, entry and hall. The quality of this beautiful wood sure made us look like pros! We installed it ourselves and were pleased with the outcome. We get compliments from everyone who sees our floors.
We have just, this week, ordered enough to do our up north home and can hardly wait to get this next project completed. The wood floors we considered, at Lowes, don't come close to the quality of Chelsea Plank Flooring. If we could give them more than 5 stars we would!

Wow! What a disappointment! The floor I purchased was installed and looked great until I had my first gathering 24 hours later. After we noticed dozens of scratches that showed clearly. Obviously we had a product that had not been sealed/finished properly (it was pre stained and sealed from the factory). We bought the new floor hoping to match 2 other hardwood floors that were 15-20 years old.
While the color matched perfectly, the new floor was already looking worse for wear after the first week of installation! Chelsea's distributor came out and inspected the new floor (making note of the fact that it did not hold up to the 2, 15+ year floors adjacent) and responded by pointing to the fine print of our contract that specifies all furniture must have "soft felt" pads underneath.
Our chairs had plastic protectors, so the warranty was therefore void. Seriously! Now I am stuck with a grossly inferior product for the next 2 decades. I am a small business owner for more than 25 years. I understand things go wrong even to the best of companies. How a company responds to these situations is what truly defines their character. When confronted with difficulty, Michigan Hardwood Distributors ran to the "fineprint" and left me paying for their mistake.

I bought my Old Mission varying width hardwood sap maple flooring 18 years ago from Chelsea Plank Flooring, and had it installed by their recommended carpenter. I am still in love with this flooring just as much the day I first saw it! I added a mirrored wall in my dining room to increase the visual beauty of this floor. I am a realtor in Ann Arbor and have recommended this business and their beautiful flooring to many of my customers, one of whom selected the very same flooring as mine for her home this year. I am pleased to have such a beautiful, local product in my home. I had excellent customer service and gorgeous results which have stood the test of time.

My husband and I purchased our hardwood flooring here when we remodeled our home in 2012. We really wanted to support small business and buy "Michigan made", huge mistake! Next time we will utilize the big box stores! Our hickory wood floors are a mess. More than half of the boards have large splits going through them and many boards have several splits.
The boards were brought into the house and allowed to acclimate as they suggested (over 3 weeks). Our professional installer has never seen wood do that. The company rep was out and took photos and telling us "there is a real problem" and then would not respond to our calls for follow up. After months of attempts to reach anyone at Chelsea Plank Flooring we were finally told our installer could CUT OUT the bad boards and get replacement ones. Really?
We have other hardwood floors in the house for 20 years and are still beautiful. This was not our installers problem and would still cost us $$$$$ as well as lousy looking floors. We have left the floors as is only because we are retired and do not have the money to replace them ourselves. Use caution with this company
