Vertical Connection Carpet One

Very pleased with the quality of service and the lovely carpet installed in my bedroom. From the measuring to the installation everything was professional and personal. Thank you to the folks of Vertical Connection.

As a condition to selling our home, we offered to carpet the Family room. We had the good fortune to meet Michael Kaplan at Vertical Connection's Columbia Office. Mr. Kaplan walked us through a number of carpeting options: quality, pricing, and color, and assisted us in coordinating colors, which met the new home buyers' wishes. It was a very positive experience.

After selecting the style and color, Mr. Kaplan measured the layout and provided a quote, which was competitively attractive. We settled on the price and, with his assistance, he helped coordinate the installation date, which was a concern to us since settlement was rapidly approaching. During the installation, a representative of the firm, (Vickey) called to inquire how the carpet installation was proceeding! Personally, I was pretty impressed with the firm's professionalism and follow-up regarding our satisfaction with the installation. Installation went very well and we (and the new home buyers) were quite satisfied. Very nice people both in the showroom and for installation. We had them install runners on our stairs. We visited their showroom and picked a carpet. There was no pressure. When they came by to measure, the salesman brought other samples. He said that our initial choice would require extra cleaning, may not wear well and was pretty expensive. He talked us through some other options, and found a great one that was less expensive.

The installation was just as good. A quick visit to measure, and the installation a week later. Three flights of stairs with landings, and they were done in a few hours. Very quick. Very nice. Very professional. Definitely would recommend them to anyone needing carpet.

Carpet initially good but when it wore poorly they told me it just needed cleaning. I then cleaned it myself and then even paid to have it professionally cleaned but that did not make a difference. The carpet was simply bad and did not last. They did not stand behind their product and told me that the warranty would only be upheld if I had it professionally cleaned every two years.

So after 7 years the carpet needs replacing. They did come back out to get the rippling as the carpet had stretched but did so much damage to the trim work I wish I had left it alone. I cannot recommend them, their word means nothing.

Two and a half years ago we ought a laminate floor from them. We paid $4000 for installation. We chose Vertical Connection because they had a lifetime warranty on installation and we thought they cared about their customers. We assumed we would have the expert installers we saw when we visited the store. They sent two unqualified installers who bragged they would do it in one day.

The resulting installation was horrible. In fact, one guy couldn't get anything right so he kept using more and more pieces until they finally ran out. We were so horrified that we told the installers to stop. Adam came and all he did did was make excuses and try to cover up the mess that was made. One of the things we paid for was to have uneven spots in the floor leveled out.

They did a lousy job and now there are sections where the floor moves when you step on it. One year later the seams were separating. Installers visited and said they would relate our concerns to Adam. We never heard back. After 2 years the floor is separating even worse and now pieces are even curling up. The floor looks horrible. We had Adam back since we had a lifetime warranty.

He made the excuse that is was normal "settling". They weren't going to do anything. We are now paying a lot of money to another company to remove the floor and put in new floor in. We paid $6500 for a substandard product and overpaid for the lousy installation we got and were told to live with the mess they created. My advice is don't do business with the Vertical Connection and don't believe their lies about a lifetime warranty.

If your looking for some expert advice on flooring, Michael Reigner is amazing and their showroom in Columbia is incredible. These guys are the real deal!

This is an update to my 6/3/19 review of Vertical Connection. The owner of V.C. contacted me shortly after that posting and said he wanted to make things right for me. He mentioned that I could and should have contacted him long ago (before or right after the job was completed) to let him know what I was unhappy about. I agreed with him -- I should have done that.

And I still feel bad that I didn't. Long story short -- the owner had the original contractor (John) come out to my condo earlier this week, and everything was fixed/touched-up to my satisfaction. The reason it took so long for this to happen is that I took a long time (months!) to get back to the owner (after he offered to fix everything for me) -- it was not his fault at all.

The upshot of all this is that I am now satisfied with the work done by Vertical Connection and their contractors. I will not work again with the V.C. person who coordinated most of my kitchen renovation -- but I would hire V.C. again to do more work for me if I ever need the services they provide (e.g. new flooring or a bathroom renovation). I still don't like that I had to pay the contractor in cash -- but I suppose that was my own fault for not reading the contract I signed more carefully. (It was a long document, which I barely skimmed. My bad!)

I reviewed Vertical Connection in the spring and gave them high praise for service, product and price. Unfortunately my review regarding the quality of their product proved to be incorrect. The carpeting in my bedroom is dirty and dismal looking. I have two large dogs and they are hard on carpeting, but no carpet in my house has looked like this one does.

If this carpeting has stain protection, the manufacturer must have put it on the bottom of the carpet not the top. i contacted Vertical connection and they have been unresponsive.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Recently I visited the store and spoke with Adam, Stephanie and Nick. They are all incredibly professional and wonderful to speak with. I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful showroom and how well it was organized. Their team is top-notch and highly respectable. If you are searching for high quality products at a great value, I would highly recommend visiting their showroom.

I could clearly see the difference from "other" stores that sell dishwashers and roofing materials. Home interiors are clearly what they specialize in and they know their business well and focus on exactly what you come there to get great advice on. Plus you find a entire world of choices you didn't know existed until you visit a place like this over the other guys.

I will certainly use them in the future as they really know what they're doing and can save you more money than the big box stores since places like that often overcompensate measurements and create more waste which costs you more money. That's why I would choose sincere professionals like Adam, Stephanie or Nick! They make the difference. Thanks again guys! Mike S.

We shopped around and thankfully we decided to go with The Vertical Connection. After deciding not to downsize, but rather stay in our "not-too-big, not-too-small house, " we wanted to update our flooring. We chose from a wide selection of samples. The service was friendly, helpful and non-pushy. The pricing and installation would be hard to beat. The installers were skilled, neat, and walked us through the process. We feel we got great quality hard wood floors for a great price.

We had an excellent experience with Vertical Connection for the replacement of our LR, DR, Kitchen, and Foyer floors. Stephanie is very knowledgeable and there was no high pressure sales pitch. Tracy and Dave are the BEST INSTALLATION CREW EVER!

Candice is great to work with as a kitchen designer. She is positive, helpful, and she has good taste. I enjoyed working with Candice to design our Decora kitchen. Candice had some really nice ideas - like making the island look more like a piece of furniture with finished ends and baseboard that really made our kitchen pop. The cabinets have been installed and they look great.

There were a few issues - which is normal with any kitchen cabinets - and she has been very helpful with solving these. The finish on the cabinets is outstanding; the Decora cabinets really are excellent cabinets and the cream with glaze looks beautiful. The showroom at The Vertical Connection is small, but they have some nice displays. I am really looking forward to moving into our new home and using these beautiful cabinets! We were impressed with our initial experience at Vertical Connection. The sales person seemed knowledgeable and friendly. However, we tried setting up an appointment for measuring our house for flooring and making the final flooring decisions. Our appointment was rescheduled the first time and the sales person was supposed to call us back after Thanksgiving for the second appointment. It's now January and we still haven't heard from him. I guess they are too busy for customers with smaller projects.

Excellent product, excellent installation! Nice sales people, no hard sell. I compared Home Depot's quote with Vertical Connection, and the price difference was only $1000. However, they ended up knocking off that $1,000 and the price was identical. Sweet! I had three rooms that I wanted to install hardwood floors; they helped me select the moderately priced flooring that most closely matched the existing floors.

The hardwood flooring has a 50 year warranty compared to Home Depot's 10 year warranty, with multiple poor reviews. Compared the quality myself and the difference is obvious. I'm ecstatic with the quality of the installation done. One last note: my selected width (2.25) ended up being unavailable so we changed it to the 3.5 width., no additional charges.

My opinion. The prices seem high, but have a lot of options and a nice show room. I got a quote for in-stock carpeting, but did not end up purchasing because their price seemed higher than the other companies I quoted. They could be more competitive for the higher-end or custom stuff, but that is not what I was looking for.

Flooded the basement, blamed it on the dog, repainted basement ceiling with high gloss; took forever to finish the job. Didn't use the materials spec'd, resulting in the whole are being much higher so now doors do not shut properly. Didn't take up old flooring, put inferior plywood over it. Broke stuff, glass everywhere. Top it all off: the SUBCONTRACTORS (beware, that!) told my kids there was no such thing as Santa (even though they knew that already).

The tile came in the wrong color and tried to talk me into using. NO one checked it at the dock. There's more but I just wanted to warn you ALL: STAY. AWAY. PS Jonathan, I certainly remember the company, and the experience I had with them. Thanks for adding to the story!

Vertical Connection replaced our kitchen floor and all the vertical blinds in the house. We could not have asked for a better experience from sales through installation. Every single person was professional, competent and accommodating, and in addition, just plain nice. They truly, and cheerfully, went the extra mile with a lot of little things which actually made a big difference to us. The quality of the flooring and blinds, as well as the installation, was excellent. We love it all.
