Globus Cork tiles are unique for our 25 tile shapes and sizes which include rectangles, squares, hexagons and triangles. Any of our colors can be made in any of the cork tile shapes and sizes shown below. We've got more than 40 unique colors and are always developing more. For the greenest cork flooring, select the glue-down cork tiles.
Unpack the tiles and let them acclimate to the room temperature and humidity for 3 to 4 days. Substrate should be smooth and free of dirt, waxes, polish, old adhesives, paint and voids. Using a paint roller with a medium nap refill, apply the adhesive to your substrate as you would in painting a substrate.
For wall installation, first draw your horizontal and then a couple of vertical lines that you'll need to line up the start of your tiles. If you are doing a large space, check to see that you have a 90 degree angle at each vertical line and then check the distance between at least 2 vertical lines at a high point and low point on the vertical lines.
Please review a sample of our color offerings before placing your order. There will be variations in the color due to the natural variations in the cork. The undeniable benefits of cork, ease of installation and Globus Cork's huge selection had me sold almost immediately. I had no knowledge of cork flooring until about 2 years ago. I'm not sure why cork flooring is so hard to find. It's beautiful, durable and the internet is full of its praises. At any rate, when it was time for our kitchen renovation, I knew I wanted cork and was happy to find that the supplier is right in the Bronx. I actually went to the factory, got lots of samples and saw how the cork tiles are made.
It was an easy subway ride and they were very welcoming. All this for my tiny 70 sq ft kitchen! But when you have a small space, you want every inch to be great. My Globus cork floor is beautiful.
