Installed beautiful wood floors in our new house 20 years ago. Then a few sawdust piles showed up - they came out and said beetles, and they'd replace the affected panels. We said not so bad, let's keep an eye on it. This would happen every few years but not too bad so again agreed to wait and see. Fast forward to getting ready to sell and inspector said infestation still active, broader than we'd thought and may have gone to subfloor so we'd need to fumigate. Rode came again to inspect but now said they're not responsible at all, too late, and wouldn't help for any expense.

So I guess I should have had them replace the floors over all those years (which would have cost MUCH more than fumigation) and not been so generous with a "wait and see." We're suing.

I was getting quotes from many other companies and am ecstatic that I was referred to Rode Bros from a family friend. The team was efficient and professional! The way Rick made sure to control the dust during installation was a dream for a perfectionist like myself! Well, Ive had better, excellent work from this very firm years before, but recently, not so much. Not sure what changed. I noticed a definite difference between the two times I have dealt with them.

We scheduled an appointment for an estimate to repair a scratch on our floor. The employee, Edgar, was supposed to arrive at 9:00. At 10:30, when he still had't come, we called him and he asked to reschedule for the following week. We told him we were home from work waiting for him that morning, so he agreed to come but said he would be another hour or so.

When he did arrive (over 2.5 hours late), he rang the bell and then quickly ran back to his truck before we opened the door. We ran outside to flag him down and he came in, but was incredibly dismissive. He barely looked at the scratch on the floor, didn't answer any questions, and said he would follow up with a quote as he was walking out the door.

He spent maybe 30 seconds at our house. Since then, we have not heard from him with the quote, and he has not replied to any of our emails/calls/texts. Incredibly unprofessional, unreliable and not very smart - we might have hired him for a much larger job if he had shown any professionalism.

Sounds like prior reviewer had problems with salesman. We hired Rodes Brothers because recommended by neighbor. OMG! They did an amazing amazing beautiful work on our old original hardwood floors that were really poorly refinished a few years earlier. We took out an old floor furnace which left a hole in the living room and hallway. we patched the big holes with plywood but didn't know how could cover it up in a decent way to keep our original hardwood floors. I wish I had before photos to show their amazing "amazing" work!
