I called and stopped by 30+ stores in the bay area and across the US and Michel was the one guy who took the extra steps in finding the flooring needed to finish a project. Service and dedication seems to be his focus and I for one completely appreciate his way of running a business.

Michel was absolutely 5 star in his service. He answered texts and phone calls almost immediately and helped my wife and I get the exact floors we wanted. What is even more impressive is that even after Michel sold us the floors, he continues to field my calls and answer all of my questions. We are installing our own luxury vinyl flooring and I have had several install questions. Michel, with what sounds like a lifetime in the business, freely shares his flooring, install and maintenance knowledge. Great company, great products, even better guy running the show.

Michel is such a helper person. He was super professional and meet me on site to talk about my project. He did everything he could to make me a happy customer. He is also conveniently located in Marin County.

I worked with Michel to get an estimate and purchase materials for redoing the floors in my entire house. Overall it was easy working with him and he was very thorough and professional. He required a couple of nudges and reminders here and there but he also made sure to follow up even after I made the purchase. I would definitely recommend working with him.

Michel and Jorge installed new engineered hardwood floors in our new house and we could not be happier with the result! There were quite a few challenges due to COVID19 delayed material, but we felt Michel did everything he could to start the project as soon as possible. Once the material arrived, Jorge was working full time to finish the work, performing flawlessly and the result is stunning. Everyone who has come to our house was amazed by the new floors, so thanks Michel and Jorge for your great job!

Michel was incredibly patient and helpful while I was trying to select the flooring in my price range. He sent me detailed options and estimates. I am so pleased with our flooring! Jorge, the installer, was detail oriented, efficient and honest as well. I have a young son, so the team vacuumed and cleaned our home thoroughly. I will definitely have Michel and his team work on our home again!

My need to replace my floors was due to an accident caused by another company. Michel went to bat for me and got me the coverage I needed to replace ALL OF MY FLOORING (approx 1500 square feet). He is a super nice guy and his crew are just stupendous. I wouldn't go with any other company as I don't think that they would have taken the time to explain all the finite details about flooring (engineered in my case) and why mine needed to totally be replaced to the insurance company. It took a while to get done but my floors are just beautiful! Thank you so much Michel!

This review is for an install that Michel provided November of 2018. My only regret is not writing this review sooner. One year on from the install and we couldn't be happier with the flooring. Michel and his crew were the most knowledgeable wood flooring specialists and installers I have met. I called Michel initially about installing wood flooring and then finishing with WOCA oil.

He drove all of the way down to the peninsula and provided a thorough estimate, even measured all of the closets (to my embarrassment). He recommended different options for replacing our stair treads and fixing some height differences with the risers. I decided that I wanted to install a prefinished wood flooring from Boen Floors instead and Michel was the only provider who could order the flooring for me at a reasonable price.

He did a great job and was able to order all of the flooring, adhesive, stair risers, treads, bullnose trim and transitions at one time. The arrival of all the materials coincided with the arrival of our third child but Michel and his team were on it. They took care of everything from off loading the trucks to storing the materials properly even brought our Amazon packages inside when they arrived.

They really were great. His team, led by Jorge, installed a new subfloor upstairs which really makes our house seem quieter and more solid. Jorge is a true craftsman and made every cut look professional. I had to travel back and forth from our house to the hospital during the install, but Michel made sure his team worked extra hard to finish up the install before we came home with the new baby.

They stayed in touch with us frequently, it was such a relief to not have to worry about the flooring with so much else going on. I wish there were more professionals like Michel and Jorge.

I highly recommend Floorcoverings of Marin County, Inc. I was very pleased with our hardwood flooring project from start to finish. It is always a pleasure, and rare nowadays, when a knowledgeable, professional, and personable business owner is personally managing every aspect of your project, but that is exactly what Michel did for us - from our initial conversation at his store to the final walk through at our home. Michel has been in the hardwood and flooring business for decades and is extremely knowledgeable about hardwood species and flooring installation - of all kinds.

The man is a purist and aficionado when it comes to the topic of hardwood and flooring. (For example: when Michel came out to personally match the existing wood floor in our home, he noticed it was comprised of a few different hardwood grades interspersed throughout, and it was aged wood (40+ years). To address this challenge, Michel suggested ordering 75% of one hardwood grade, and 25% of another grade, and then had his installer make sure our existing hardwood floor matched our newly floored rooms with respect to pattern, texture, finish, and coloring.) Michel has the knowledge and experience to answer any hardwood and flooring related questions a person may have.

While Michel handled the business and consulting side of our project, his master craftsman / installer, Jorge, handled the installation of our hardwood floor. Jorge's professionalism is equal to Michel's from the installation side of the project. These gentlemen make a great team. The scope of our project included: kitchen, dining area, TV room, and bedroom. Michel and Jorge also had to coordinate with our general contractor and a somewhat hectic renovation schedule. They seamlessly handled this coordination with our GC and made it stress free for us. In sum, I highly recommend this business.

A few months ago I bought a new house with floors in need of serious restoration - if not replacement. A friend of mine recommended Michel and I was not disappointed. Michel and his team are true craftsmen and woodworking artists. They were punctual, efficient and truly caring. Could not have had a bette experience. P.S.: Michel will recommend oil your floors, which sounds a little weird at first, but if you look at some of his samples, might not seem so strange. We oil finished our floors and they are wonderful. Looking forward to working with Michel again in the near future.
